General Description :
Solgar Sage Leaf Extract:
Sage (Salvia officinalis) has been used for hundreds of years both as a culinary and therapeutic herb. The key constiuents are organic acids, polyphenols, terpenes and volatile oils. Within the volatile oils, rosmarinic acid and carvacrol would appear to exert antioxidant properties. Several other compounds are reported to have anti-flammatory or anticholinesterase properties (effectively preventing the destruction of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine by the enzyme acetylcholinesterase within the nervous system).
Studies have also shown Sage being beneficial in the relief of excess sweating associated with the menopause.
